ROBOT WAITER CLAWS
- Complete redesign of these robots that will no longer pick up the wheel or perform artificial vision functions.
- They will only insert the screws into the rim.
- The new vision of the waiter will detect if the screws are the correct version (electric or combustion).
SCREWDRIVER ROBOT GRIPPERS
- Redesign due to the larger maximum wheel size of the electric model (15 mm radial).
- In order to be able to screw in both working diameters, the clamp can be adjusted by means of a pneumatic cylinder.
WHEEL CENTERING DEVICES
- Redesign of the centering stations, taking into account:
- Valve on steel wheels (safety screw in front or rear valve hole).
- Fixed position of the holes so that the robot waiter will always insert the screws into the rim in the same position.
SCREW SUPPLY
- Due to the new electric models it is necessary to add two new standard screw hoppers (combustion VW and electric VW-SK).
- The four existing hoppers will be used for the different safety screws, leaving one of them as a backup to speed up the process.
In addition to other improvements such as reducing the risk of collision between the waiter robot and the screwdriver:
- The conveyor line has been redesigned to send the wheels to the centering track, instead of the waiter robots.
- Also, the size of the waiter gripper is smaller than that of the screwdriver robot, avoiding collisions and improving assembly cycle time.
Ventajas
Productivity improvement, the buffering system increases the line autonomy time by 20 minutes, which benefits the operator who has more time to perform other logistic processes.
Improved Ergonomics, feeding the installation by means of containers and electric forklifts. In addition, accidents are avoided in the direct handling of the wheel rollers.
Incident reduction, the backup systems incorporated in both the duplication of stations, (wheel destacker) motorization and sensorics reduce the risk of production line stoppages.
Quality improvement, by incorporating the pressure control ensures the tightening torque, verifies the traceability of the VIN number and eliminates rework caused by failures in the tightness tests.
